My work is motivated by the he sheer wonder of being out in nature and observing the great mystery of life that surrounds us.
To step out of the everyday routine to immerse oneself in the beauty that nature lays out for
us in its many different terrains, from the coastal tide pools to the highest peaks, is both physically and mentally refreshing.

I try to convey that sense of connection to nature, of being and feeling a part of nature. Not apart from nature.

My images are not traditional, they have a painterly feel and a sense of dimension that draws the viewer into the
image.

I enjoy working with color, greyscale and toned pallettes. Some images lend themselves well to the conversion of greyscale and toning. That is why in this presentation I have both versions available. The selenium toned images are a throwback to an early darkroom process that gave greyscale prints a very warm tone.
